The TNGOP boldly declared “America’s military has moved Iraq solidly into the win column” just a few weeks ago. Now, not so much. A more recent press release claims only that “the ’surge’ …has brought America to the brink of victory in Iraq.”
What?! I thought we already won! Iraq was solidly in the win column!
Darn. I knew it was too good to be true. But don’t worry, we’re still on the brink. I'm sure it’ll just be another year or two or three or whatever. Stay the course and everything will be just fine. I know they said that in 2006, but now they admit they were wrong in 2006 so you can totally believe them now.
