Here’s an interesting question…
Will you, personally, pay higher taxes under John McCain or Barack Obama?
If you make between $19,000 and $38,000 annually:
HIGHER TAXES UNDER McCAIN (by $779 every year)
If you make between $38,000 and $66,000 annually:
HIGHER TAXES UNDER McCAIN (by $723 every year)
If you make between $66,000 and $112,000 annually:
HIGHER TAXES UNDER McCAIN (by $281 every year)
Okay – everybody got that? If you make less than $112,000 per year, you will pay lower taxes under President Barack Obama than you would under John McCain.
Probably not what you expected, huh?
In case you’re curious, we’ll keep going up the pay scale:
If you make between $112,000 and $227,000 annually:
President Barack Obama will still cut your taxes (yes, really!) by $2,789 per year. However, John McCain would cut them by $1,500 on top of that. So you’ll pay lower taxes either way, but more so under McCain.
If you make between $227,000 and $603,000:
President Obama will not cut your taxes. In fact, they may go up… by $12 per year. Not a typo. 12. Twelve. Let me see if I can illustrate what that means. If you’re currently making a half million dollars annually, you’ll still pay exactly what you pay now, under George W. Bush, plus $12. Pretty terrifying I know.
Okay, here it comes, the big whammy…
If you make above $603,000 annually:
Yes, your taxes will go up under President Obama. And they will go down under John McCain – a lot. Can’t deny it.
I write this in response to a GOP email flying around right now. Seems the GOP email is full of lies. Shocking, I know. The real numbers are on Snopes. Those are the numbers I used above. Look ‘em up. Then tell all your friends.
