Good News: TDOT has a new guard rail that’s more effective and costs less. That’s nice and everything, but wow – it’s really slim pickings in the search for state/local government news today.
More Good News: The House Health and Human Resources Committee unanimously passed a Democratic bill to expand home care to the elderly on TennCare.
Bad News: Democrats in the State House will try to screw up our open records laws tomorrow.
Bus Boys: “The Metro Transit Authority will hold four public hearings next month on possible fare increases and route cuts as it faces a difficult budget year,” reports the Tennessean.
Metro Vs. State: The Metro Council unanimously urges the State to pick a new company to manage healthcare benefits for prisoners. The State instead asks the company for another year of services. The Nashville CityPaper doesn’t say why.
Delayed: No vote tonight on expanding Metro Schools' anti-discrimination policies.
