It's one thing to pick the person you most want to run the country, but today's question is: Which candidate would you most like to have a beer with?
It's a question being asked by the National Beer Wholesalers Association on its web site. When I voted, the results put Barack Obama in the lead with 42 percent. Since both Democrats and Republicans run side by side on this ballot, that means there is no party divide on the issue.
John McCain was second with 20 percent.
And say what you want about Ron Paul, but he would be one interesting guy to share a pitcher of Sam Adams and a basket of greasy fries with. Others think so too and he took in 17 percent of the vote.
Few consider Hillary Clinton any kind of barfly as only 10 percent of those voting on line say they'd welcome her company over PBR and a game of darts.
And it's poor Mike Gravel who sits in the corner by himself nursing near-beer with only three percent wanting to join him at the table.
Mitt Romney, who probably wouldn't darken the door of the bar in the first place, isn't among the contenders. Mike Huckabee drew eight percent, but his companions might have to substitute communion wine to enjoy his company.
