It seems that a Tennessee-based political organization likes Mike Huckabee's support of the confederate flag. The group, Americans for the Preservation of American Culture, has begun running radio ads in South Carolina on Huckabee's behalf.
Asked about the issue during his campaign in South Carolina, Huckabee said, "You don't like people from outside the state coming in and telling you what to do with your flag ... In fact, if somebody came to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we'd tell 'em what to do with the pole, that's what we'd do."
The APAC's web site offers clips on what various GOP candidates have to say about the flag. Its stated mission is "To restore public perception of the virtues of our Confederate Forefathers and Southern Heritage as one of the foundations of American Liberty, by being a positive influence on the election and appointment of public officials."
South Carolina was the site of a previous battle over flying the battle flag. The issue ended with the flag being removed from atop the state's capitol.
