The Knox County Commission, which lost a court battle over its efforts to appoint new members in secret, pass two issues this week; one Progressive and the other a set back.
The first is a change in the county's charter that will give voters the right to recall an elected official. Because it's a change in the charter, voters will have to approve the action during an August election.
The second, according to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, urges "all American citizens who have similar beliefs to proclaim to every level of government its responsibility to publicly recognize God as the foundation of our National Heritage."
Clearly the commission understands how politics works -- too well if the court action is any indication. Perhaps now it needs a lesson on the separation of church and state.
